St. Luke the Apostle Baptism Keepsake Favor is a small wooden mounted icon to share with guests at an Orthodox baptism. Saint Luke is shown writing in an open book, with his golden halo, turquoise and red garments, and the winged ox in the upper corner. The 3 × 3-inch square icon is 0.3 inches thick, offering a lasting keepsake that guests can take home after the celebration.

St. Luke the Apostle Baptism Keepsake Favor

An icon connects a baptism celebration with the life of the Church. This Saint Luke design is especially meaningful for a child named Luke or Loukas, or for a family with a particular devotion to the Apostle and Evangelist. Its compact square shape makes it easy to incorporate into your own favor presentation while keeping the sacred image visible.

The photographs offer two presentation ideas: an individual icon beside an ivory favor pouch, and several icons arranged in rows for guests. Both settings pair the rich colors of the artwork with soft ivory fabric and ribbon. Use them as inspiration for your own celebration, choosing and supplying your packaging separately.

Price and Order Quantities

$9.99 per icon. Minimum order: 50 icons. Order in increments of 50: 50, 100, 150, 200 and so on. A 50-piece order costs $499.50 before shipping and applicable taxes. The quantity refers to individual icons, and the displayed price is for one icon.

What Is Included?

Only the wooden mounted icons are supplied. Koufeta, tulle bags, ribbons, candles, flowers, linens, gift packaging and every other styling accessory in the photographs are excluded. This is an icon-only baptism keepsake idea, not an assembled favor package. Personalization is not included.

The Life of Saint Luke the Apostle and Evangelist

In Orthodox tradition, Saint Luke is honored as a physician, a companion of Saint Paul, and the writer of the Gospel according to Luke and the Acts of the Apostles. The Church also associates him with the first icons of the Mother of God. His principal feast day is October 18.

The icon shows the saint at his writing desk, with Greek lettering on the book and a winged ox beside him. These details give guests an opportunity to learn more about the saint whose image they receive. Read the Orthodox Church in America’s life of the Apostle and Evangelist Luke for further background.

Plan Your Baptism Keepsake Presentation

Start with the icon’s measurements when selecting a pouch, box or wrapping. Allow room for its wooden thickness, and avoid tight fastenings across the artwork. Prepare a sample arrangement before assembling the rest, so you can check how the icon, packaging and any thank-you card fit together.

Keep ribbons and loose fabric away from candle flames, and display the icons securely. Please contact us by email before ordering if your celebration has a fixed date. Explore more Baptism Ideas, or see the original Saint Luke square mounted icon for the icon on its own.

Care for Your Wooden Icon

Keep the icon indoors in a dry location. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth, and avoid soaking the wood or applying abrasive cleaners. Protect the image from direct heat, candle flames and prolonged strong sunlight. Use a suitable support when displaying it upright.
