Saint Tikhon the Russian is depicted in monastic robes against a vivid blue background in this square wooden mounted icon. His long white beard, golden halo, and folded hands give the image a calm, solemn character. Measuring 3 × 3 inches with a 0.3-inch thickness, this Mini Square icon is a compact devotional piece for a prayer corner, shelf, or meaningful Orthodox Christian gift.

Saint Tikhon the Russian Wooden Icon

The artwork presents the saint facing forward, with his hands resting together beneath his beard. Dark blue monastic headwear and gold crosses stand out against the warm brown folds of his outer robe. The halo forms a clear circle behind his head, while the bright blue field gives the figure a strong, uncluttered setting.

White Greek lettering identifies the saint as Tychon the Russian. Tychon is another transliteration of the name Tikhon, so either spelling may be familiar to those looking for this subject. The narrow white border and reddish wooden edge frame the image without distracting from its central figure. The photograph shows these details as part of the mounted piece.

A Quiet Image for Personal Devotion

This Saint Tikhon the Russian icon brings the visual language of Orthodox monasticism into a small devotional format. The robes, crosses, and composed posture draw attention to the saint’s monastic identity. The image can accompany a prayer book or sit among other sacred images in a space set aside for daily prayer and reflection.

For additional spiritual reading, the Saint Elisabeth Convent’s account of Father Tikhon and Russian monastic life on Mount Athos offers background on the elder’s life of prayer. A thoughtfully arranged devotional space can keep such reading close to the images that inspire personal reflection.
